The Master of Music in Film Score Composition and Production takes two years and concludes with a corresponding academic degree of the same name. The degree is offered by ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, Netherlands.
The program builds upon a profound study of composition and audio engineering. It gives previously educated film score composers the chance to record their own compositions for film with a symphonic orchestra, and the opportunity to learn about the business side of the industry.
Completion of the year-long vocational course Advanced Film Scoring and Production is recommended, as that course and the master program are closely related in terms of content.
The Music Composition for Film and Theater track of the Master of Music program gives musicians who have completed music studies the possibility to specialize in a field of their choice.
Academic goals are set by each student individually, and specialization is absolutely welcome. In addition to the services offered as part of the program, each student has access to a set budget for external lecturers.
This allows a high-level of specialization.
To ensure that each student possesses the basic abilities for working as a film composer, participation in the Advanced Film Scoring and Production preparatory course is required.
